Kit, mill, stack

Kit sounds like a box from a catalog. Turnkey sounds like you show up with a suitcase. Neither word helps until you know who owns which piece of the house.

What TJ's sells

A handcrafted log package. Colorado wood, milled in Bailey. We pre-build the log structure at the mill, take it apart, and it goes back up on your subfloor.

We are not, as a default, your general contractor for the whole house. Foundation, roof, mechanicals, interior, site work: your builder, or you, own those. If you want a different arrangement, that is a conversation with the mill.

Why mills talk this way

A log wall is a specialist trade. The people who scribe and crane 30-foot timber are not always the same crew that sets a septic. When a mill tries to be every trade, the mill work waits on a plumber, or the mill work gets rushed. Neither helps the house.

What you still need

Land that a truck can reach. A foundation and subfloor. A builder who has stacked a log kit, or will learn with the mill on the phone. Permits in the county where the house sits. We mill so your builder can pull those. We do not pull them for you from this page.
